Thanks to LadyDi who found this in the New York Post: The caption read "Daniel Day-Lewis and Rebecca Miller enjoy the spirited fall weather yesterday as they stroll along Spring Street in SoHo. Dan is featured in Martin Scorsese's upcoming "Gangs of New York"." Below, thanks to Jess for two pictures from an unnamed Australian magazine, which were obviously taken the same day. Below right, thanks to Diane for a pic from OK that contained the two pictures on the left as well.

Pax found this item at peoplenews.com. Thank you Pax.
"Irish actor Daniel Day-Lewis, who is staying in New York at the moment, immediately offered his help to the Emergency Services on Tuesday after the
terrorist attacks. Day-Lewis tried to give blood but was turned away due to impossibly long queues. He then made himself useful by transporting boxes
of ice to hospitals to keep the donated blood cold. He said: 'I had to help in some small way, anyway I could. This whole situation is so awful, it cannot
be described in words. We hope to go back and give blood when we can. But for now this is the most useful thing I can do.'" And thanks to Cora at the GONY Watch Board for locating the picture. Below left: Serenella found this one of Dan, Ronan, and an unidentified friend( you just see what appears to be RM's head behind Dan) in Chi magazine in Italy. Below center: Jessica found this one in The National Enquirer. Below right two: from People Magazine.

This from Margot in Australia from Australian Woman's Day, June 25, 2001. Daniel has apparently shaved all the nice hair off and is wearing the silliest hat I've ever seen him in. What's wrong with this man? Hello (July 3 edition) carried the same pictures plus another one of RM and Ronan and identified them as being taken in New York City. Thanks to Serenella for that picture

No picture, but the New York Post, Page 6 column, lists under its "sightings" heading: "Daniel Day-Lewis with his young son at a children's tea party at The Scholastic Store in Soho." Kathy found their site and a listing there for "Miss Spider's Tea Party on April 28th from 11:00-12:00", so that must have been the date of the sighting.
In the same issue of the paper, Liz Smith's column mentions "Lili [Taylor] soon goes into the movie "Fleeing," with Kyra Sedgwick. The director is Rebecca Miller (playwright Arthur' daughter and the wife of actor Daniel Day-Lewis)." No word on when or where this will start up. Thanks to myte for finding these items.
