November 14                Dan spotted at a special screening of "Hotel Rwanda" at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC. Thanks to Claire for finding this.
November 8                And he's still running. As reported on Fox News "Over the weekend celeb spottings: On Sunday morning, Daniel Day-Lewis jogged through Greenwich Village in a navy-blue spandex outfit, possibly in sympathy with the New York marathoners." Thanks to Keaton for finding this.
October 19                And he's finally back in New York and has been spotted by The Gawker on the streets there: "Ever-brooding, ever-seething, ever-pouncable Daniel Day Lewis, twice in one day (10-18): Fifth Ave and 11th St in the a.m.(alone), 10th St between Fifth and University, p.m. (with female companion)." Thanks to Carobles for finding this.
September 23                No picture but a mention of Dan competing in a race in Carlow, Ireland the previous Sunday (September 19).

"... battle took place while Daniel Day Lewis took centre stage in the Tinryland four miles road race.

Both teams and the multi-million dollar movie star struggled to do their best. Lewis ran a 23.33 race - a season best, Palatine ran Grange out of contention - a county title. When they had all finished their duties they were surrounded by adoring fans, some congratulating, some commiserating.

At 6’4" Lewis would always struggle in events like this, piling on the weight one week for a movie and then trying to lose it for the big race. He may have been a legend on the big screen but in Tinryland he was just another competitor - a man trying to give his all."

Actually he's not 6'4". He probably just looks like that in person. Complete article in the Carlow-Nationalist
September 18                Dan shows up in The Star as an example of who is too thin. I don't think he looks that bad. It's just not a very good picture. Claire tracked this down to a series of pictures that were taken last May.
August 22                An entire article on Dan's running in the Irish Independent. Much thanks to Edie for spotting this!
late July                No picture but Elaine reports one of the Irish newspapers mentioning Dan had been spotting having lunch with Rebecca in Greystones, in County Wicklow, Ireland.
July 23                No picture but Dan is reported as having run in the 21st Annual Guide Dogs for the Blind 6K Road Race in Ballitore. (Thanks to Claire and Eve for finding information about this race)

Eve later found an article about the race in the www.leinsterleader.ie, Aug 2, 2004 Ballitore, Narraghmore (Local Notes)
"ON Friday 23 July, new records were set at the 21st Annual Guide Dogs for the Blind 6K Road Race in Ballitore, where one of the largest crowds ever assembled to see this very competitive top class field of athletes - including Oscar winning actor Daniel Day Lewis - both men and women fighting it out for the top prizes, and where the first three senior men and senior women all broke the old previous records. The evening was a perfect balmy summer one, and the carnival atmosphere in the village was electric. Charlie Lavin, one of the organisers tells us that “the field of 64 runners got off to a flying start with Martin Fagan Pat Byrne Peter Mathews and Peter Dalton setting the pace. It certainly was very competitive running with Fagan getting home in 17.54mins, a new record, Pat Byrne in 18-08mins and Peter Mathews in 18-21mins, all new records. In the senior women’s race Pauline Curley set a blistering pace to set a new record of 20.42mins with Sinead Cummins in second place 22.25mins and Kildare’s Liz Foy in third place in a time of 22.53mins - again all new records. As well as the Road Race there was a non-competitive 3K Walk, with all 66 entrants finishing this most enjoyable event. A total of 64 runners and 66 walkers took part on this night’s great event in Ballytore.
late April                    Thanks to Edie for finding this in an Irish newspaper. Dan is said to have run a 5k race in Kilcoole, Wicklow, near where he lives in Ireland
January 14                    Several pictures of Dan shopping with Ronan in Soho in NYC. Isn't Ronan adorable? Thanks to Claire for finding these. The one at left is from Hello and the ones below from rexfeatures.
