Daniel's film debut was in an uncredited role of a juvenile delinquent and football player in John Schlesinger's 1971 movie, Sunday, Bloody Sunday. According to Garry Jenkins in Daniel Day-Lewis, the Fire Within, Daniel and some of his friends were recommended to Schlesinger, who was filming the movie in Greenwich, by the local greengrocer. Daniel was 14 years old at the time and was paid £5 for his work.

Daniel is on the far right in the picture below, scratching cars with glass.

The entire scene that he appears in can viewed at Kyoko's site. Many thanks Kyoko, for the scene and the still picture!
